I can’t sleep so here I am! I wanted to share my little trip I took to one of my favorite places ever, Traverse City. Technically, I was here on business, that didn’t end up working out anyways unfortunately… BUT I knew I wanted to take advantage of my full day here. I totally played tourist and it was so much fun!
Because this was technically a business trip, I drove all the way up in business professional (ish) which is not my favorite thing in the world, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I was really loving my outfit though so of course I took some selfies while waiting in the car.
For me, TC means three things, cherries, the bay, and M22. Every time I go I must check these things off my list of playing tourist. First stop was of course, Cherry Republic. I could spend years in this store, but I was somewhat on a time crunch, so I got what I wanted and only browsed (and snacked) for a bit. I walked out with cherry peach cobbler jam, Montmorency dried cherries, and a cute sticker (duh). The dried cherries are a staple, but this was my first time trying the cherry peach jam, and it’s a 10/10. I’ve been loving it on my toast in the mornings, and I’ll be so sad when it’s all gone. Next I stopped at M22, which is pretty much the most Michigan store you can think of, because it’s all based on the M22 road here. I have a few M22 things already, but I don’t currently have my favorite hat with me (long story time, maybe a future post?) so I splurged and bought the cutest blue corduroy hat. I also got a new car air freshener because that’s just an essential.
Like c’monnn it’s the perfect hat!
For lunch, I stopped at one of my favorite comfort cafes, Grand Traverse Pie Company. It was easy, fast, and I got the most amazing slice of pie with my sandwich. I decided to enjoy lunch at my third TC must: the bay. I love watching boats coming in and out of the marina, listening to the waves, and people watching (because I know what I’m doing sitting at the beach midday on a Tuesday, but what are you doing?) Overall, this was a pretty great solo day for me, and I’m grateful that even if what I drove up here for didn’t work out, I still got to spend my whole day in TC and eat pie by the water.
And yes, don’t worry I jumped in the lake before I went to drive home.
